Counselling is without the horses. It is a more conventional person-centred approach, focussing on your subjective experience, valuing you as the authority in your life, and acknowledging your unique perspective.
Counselling sessions are conducted in a safe and supportive environment where you feel empowered to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of judgment or criticism. You can expect to be treated with respect and empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuineness.
By emphasising your independence and growth potential, this approach aims to gain insight, and create positive change, particularly when navigating life’s challenges and transitions. This approach has a proven track record in supporting people with:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Symptoms of PTSD
- Relationship problems
- Recovery from family violence
- Developing self-esteem
- Grief and loss
Working with a Counsellor
The role of the counsellor is to offer supportive guidance in a non-judgmental setting. It is not to provide advice or direction. It is more like a facilitator who empowers you through your self-discovery and personal growth, and works with you to clarify your goals, identify your strengths, and support you towards positive change.
We aim to provide you with a unique experience to person-centred counselling, utilising our beautiful natural environment as our backdrop, rather than room-based therapeutic sessions, to give you a place to re-charge and reflect on the most important issues you feel you need to address in your life.
“I had heaps of issues at work and I really struggled to manage everyone’s expectations. Robyn helped me to work out what was most important to me, gave me clarity on what boundaries I needed to maintain and gave me the tools to be able to move froward with confidence and a new self-respect” – Angus
